Facebook - Open Group
FYC is trialling a Facebook open group, which allows members to share their sailing experiences with each other by posting under their own name. Only approved members can post, but their postings can be read by anyone, so this is a good way to promote the club - anything controversial should therefore be avoided. Not all members use Facebook of course, so this group is for chit chat rather than anything more formal. The address of the group is https://www.facebook.com/groups/fisherrowyachtclub/ .
(The existing Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/fisherrowyachtclub/ is still there, but members are encouraged to use the new group in its place at least to trial it. One advantage of the new group is that it allows members to participate on an equal basis, whereas the old Facebook page only allows admins easily to post.)
